Registration open: Numeric number plate auction

22 rare Numeric number plates will be sold in an online auction this October.

Whether you're a car enthusiast or a collector, this is your chance to secure a special plate.

The online auction will go live at 12pm on Thursday, 8 October 2026. You will have until 7pm on Monday, 19 October 2026 to bid.

The auction will be run by third-party auctioneer Slattery Auctions and Valuations.

What you need to know

All Numeric plates sold will have ‘Class Specific Rights’. This provides owners long-term rights to their plate. This means the plate:

• can be transferred to vehicles registered in the same name
• sold to a third party.

Anyone can purchase the rights to a Numeric plate. However, they can only be placed on a vehicle registered in South Australia.

The auction helps fund services for South Australians.
