Faster refunds direct to your bank account

You can now choose to receive refunds directly into your bank account, making the process faster, safer and more convenient.

If you complete an eligible transaction and set up a refund bank account in your mySAGOV account, you will no longer need to wait for a cheque. Instead, we will deposit the refund directly into your refund bank account within 1 to 3 business days.

What you need to do

You will need to ensure your nominated bank account is Osko-enabled. If no bank account is recorded for refunds, the mySAGOV system will prompt you to add one. If you don't provide your bank details within 2 days, we will issue the refund by cheque.

For security purposes, you will also need to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your mySAGOV account before adding or updating your bank details.

Existing conditions for refunds

  • For registrations in joint names, refunds can only be paid to the primary account holder.
  • Only amounts greater than $5 will be processed automatically.
  • Refunds of $5 or less can still be requested in writing to Service SA.
