Digital expiry reminders

All mySAGOV customers will now receive a digital reminder by SMS or email, the day before their vehicle registration expires.

This change will provide a faster, simpler and more convenient service for customers as digital reminders are delivered faster than mailed letters.

Vehicle owners are still responsible for renewing their registration on time. Digital reminders are designed to help customers stay informed and take action before their vehicle registration expires.

Customers who currently receive a physical renewal notice approximately six weeks before the due date, will continue to do so, either digitally or by mail, depending on their preferred notification method.

What you need to do

If you have a mySAGOV account:

• Log in to your account to check that your mobile phone number and email address are up to date.
• In the account you can review and manage your notification preferences so you can receive the digital registration expiry reminders by email or SMS.
• Choose how and when you receive reminders. You can set up notifications to be sent before your registration expires and select the reminders that work best for you.
• Setting your preferences can help you stay on top of upcoming expirations and avoid missing a registration payment.
